Who this applies to
NLCRC works with charities, schools, community centres, and referrers on device gifting and events where vulnerable adults or children may be indirectly involved. Referrers remain responsible for eligibility and consent; we maintain safeguarding procedures for our staff and venues.
Summary of commitments
Safeguarding Policy version 1.0 (June 2026) — full document available to partners on request.
Staff and volunteers with contact roles receive appropriate briefing. Concerns are escalated to the designated safeguarding lead.
We do not collect unnecessary special-category data for device gifts — technical specifications only (e.g. screen size, assistive software compatibility).
Questions
Common questions
Can we review the full safeguarding policy?
Yes — partners, councils, and grant assessors may request the PDF. Contact us with your organisation details.
Who is the safeguarding lead?
Named on the full policy document shared with partners — contact us for current details.
Do you work directly with children?
Referrers gate beneficiary eligibility. Our staff follow safeguarding procedures for community events and device handover.
