Faults we see every week
- Laptop shut off mid-spill and will not turn back on

Windows and software faults
If Windows will not start, the drive still often holds the files. Do not reinstall until we have imaged the disk where possible.
- Windows starts then instantly blue-screens after a spill (often storage or RAM corrosion)
- Keyboard layout / filter keys gone wild from a shorted board
- Battery reports 0% and Windows shuts down with the charger in

Hold the power button. Do not use rice, hairdryers, or charge it.

Bring it in
Same-day slot in Hanwell. We open it before oxidation sets.

Approve the plan
Clean, replace ports, or recover data — you choose.
Questions
- Should I turn it on to see if it still works?
- No. Powering a wet board spreads corrosion and can kill the SSD.
- Can you save the files?
- Often yes even when the laptop never boots again. Drive recovery starts at £79 after the £39–£49 intake if it is a data-only path.
