Diagnostic fees: Diagnostic and evaluation fees may apply depending on the device and fault. We explain any fee before chargeable work begins, and where offered it may be credited toward an approved repair.

Our commitment to customers

  • Independent repair and IT services provider
  • In-store and workshop evaluation where offered
  • Upfront pricing before chargeable repair work
  • No repair without customer approval (unless contractually agreed)
  • 6-month limited warranty on eligible repairs (see policy)
  • Turnaround depends on parts, queue, and device condition
  • No guaranteed outcomes — especially for data recovery or severe damage
  • You are responsible for backing up data before service

For homes, freelancers, and organisations

Homes and individuals usually need a clear diagnosis, a fair quote, and honest advice when a machine is borderline. Businesses and schools often need predictable turnaround, asset tagging, loan devices where agreed, and documentation that sits alongside your internal IT or compliance process.

Types of repair and diagnostics we support

This list is not exhaustive—if it is not listed, contact us and we will say whether we can help or point you elsewhere.

  • No power, sleep/wake, or charging faults (including DC jack and USB-C PD)
  • Overheating, fan noise, thermal throttling, and thermal paste or pad service
  • Storage: slow SSD/HDD, SMART warnings, cloning, upgrades, and boot issues
  • Memory (RAM) faults, upgrade planning, and stability under load
  • Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth dropouts, antenna leads, and adapter faults
  • Screen, keyboard, trackpad, and hinge problems (where parts and viability allow)
  • Audio: speakers, headphone jack, and microphone faults
  • USB ports, Thunderbolt, and docking behaviour
  • Desktop graphics cards, reseating, power supply related triage (where applicable)
  • Windows, macOS, and dual-boot triage (updates, boot loops, malware, profiles)
  • Liquid exposure: first steps, corrosion risk, and what to stop doing immediately
  • Performance tuning, clean installs (with your consent), and upgrade advice
  • Blue screen (BSOD), boot loops, and intermittent crashes under load
  • Battery health, swollen cells, and charge-limit behaviour on laptops
  • Camera, webcam, fingerprint reader, and biometric sensor faults
  • Ethernet and docked workstation connectivity (where onboard NIC or dock is at fault)
  • PSU, VRM, and desktop power-delivery triage (intermittent shutdowns, coil whine, no POST)
  • RAID and multi-drive desktop arrays — assessment before rebuild or recovery routing
  • Business fleet batches: asset tagging, loan units, and documented handover where agreed

In our workshop

A quick look at the sort of bench work involved in diagnostics and repair—not every job needs disassembly, but when it does, we work methodically and document what we find.

FAQ

What devices do you work on?

Desktop PCs, laptops, and Apple computers (Mac). For Apple-specific design constraints, see our Apple Mac repair page.

How do I book a slot?

Use Book repair on this page to choose a date and time online, then complete your contact details and device summary on the booking form. Signed-in portal clients can also book from their account.

Do you repair liquid-damaged machines?

We can assess liquid damage and explain what is realistic. Power the device off, do not keep cycling power, and contact us for triage—we may route you to board-level or data recovery options depending on symptoms.

When should I ask about data recovery instead?

If the priority is rescuing files from a failing drive, accidental deletion, or encryption issues, start with our data recovery page so we can align expectations before hardware repair.
