NLCRC • Motherboard repair
Motherboard and circuit-level diagnostics and repair.
Where appropriate, we diagnose and repair board-level issues for PCs, laptops, and Apple computers—especially power and charging faults when component-level work is viable and proportionate.

Common board-level symptoms
- No power, black screen, or random shutdowns after minor knocks
- USB-C or MagSafe charging intermittently recognised or not at all
- Liquid exposure: corrosion risk on connectors and under shields
- Shorted or damaged rails after failed third-party adapters or surges
- BIOS/UEFI vs hardware: we separate firmware symptoms from physical faults where possible
- GPU artefacts, no display output, or failed POST after graphics or RAM changes
- RAM slot, soldered RAM, and memory-training failures on laptops and small-form-factor PCs
- DC jack, charging IC, and USB-C PD controller faults (common on ultrabooks and MacBooks)
- Keyboard backlight, power button, and embedded controller symptoms
- Corrosion mapping after liquid ingress — when cleaning is viable vs when replacement wins
What to do first
- Stop repeated power cycles
- Note recent events (spill, drop, power surge)
- Contact us for triage and next steps
When replacement makes more sense
Some faults are economically or technically better solved with a mainboard swap, a refurbished unit, or a new device—particularly when labour exceeds value, parts are unobtainable, or data is already secured elsewhere. We will say so clearly rather than commit you to endless rework.

FAQ
Do you offer board-level repair for liquid damage?
We can assess liquid damage and advise viability. Early triage matters; stop power cycles and contact us quickly.
Is board repair always the best option?
Not always. We will explain whether board repair is viable, whether a replacement mainboard or device is better value, and what that means for your data.
Do you work on Apple silicon as well as Intel Macs?
We assess case by case depending on fault type, parts availability, and Apple constraints. Contact us with model and symptoms.
How does this relate to general diagnostics?
Many faults start on our repairs and diagnostics path and move here when evidence points to the board or power circuit. See repairs and diagnostics for the wider intake.
