Overview — returns accepted on all items

This Returns Policy explains how National Laptop Computer Repair Centre handles returns of goods purchased from nlcrc.co.uk, our client portal shop, and other National Laptop Computer Repair Centre sales channels. It is written to meet common Google Merchant Centre / Google Shopping return-policy disclosure expectations and UK consumer information standards: we state clearly whether returns are accepted, the return window, refund method and timing, identity requirements, and exclusions.

We accept returns on all items sold by National Laptop Computer Repair Centre, subject to the conditions in this policy. “All items” means every product we list for sale (including refurbished, renewed, and new stock), unless a specific listing explicitly states a different statutory-compliant term. Repair labour, booked workshop services, and digital services are covered separately under our Warranty and refund policy.

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (or other applicable UK law) where you buy as a consumer. If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, those rights apply in addition to this commercial returns process.

Return window and how to start a return

For online purchases, you may request a return within 14 days of the date you receive the goods (delivery date). Contact us before sending anything back so we can issue a returns reference and confirm the shipping address. Returns without a pre-authorised returns reference may be delayed or refused until we can verify the order.

To start a return, email or message us with: order number (or invoice/receipt number), full legal name of the returning party, current postal address, email address, telephone number, item description and quantity, serial number(s) if present on the listing or device, reason for return, and preferred remedy (refund or store credit). Business purchasers must also provide company name, registered address where applicable, and an authorised contact.

We will confirm whether the return is authorised, provide packing and labelling guidance, and tell you where to send the goods. Do not return items to a walk-in address or third-party location unless we expressly instruct you to do so in writing.

Serial checking and product marking

All items we sell are serial-checked and marked as part of our intake, inventory, and dispatch process. Serial numbers, asset tags, internal marks, and packaging seals (where applied) are recorded against your order. On return, we re-check serials, markings, and condition against our dispatch records.

You must return the same unit(s) supplied on your order. Substituting a different unit, swapping components (for example storage, memory, chargers, batteries, or boards), or removing/altering serial labels or marks is not an authorised return and will be refused. Returned goods must include all accessories supplied with the order (cables, chargers, manuals, packaging where reasonably available) unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Condition requirements — improper use voids return and warranty

Returned items must be in a resaleable condition consistent with a change-of-mind or unused return, unless you are returning under statutory rights for fault or misdescription. We expect original or protective packaging where practicable, no liquid damage, no physical abuse beyond normal inspection, and no unauthorised modifications.

Improper usage voids warranty and returning such an item will not be granted under this commercial returns policy. Improper usage includes (without limitation): liquid or fire damage; impact or crush damage after delivery; overload, incorrect power, or unsafe electrical use; attempts to open, rework, or “repair” sealed assemblies without authorisation; malware or data-destruction attempts that leave the device unserviceable; use outside manufacturer environmental limits; and any use contrary to safety instructions supplied with the goods.

Where improper use, damage after delivery, missing parts, or failed serial verification is found, we may reject the return, return the goods to you at your cost, and decline refund or store credit. Separate workshop warranty terms (if any) for repairs you later book with us are described on our Warranty and refund policy page and do not override this returns policy for sales goods.

Identity of the returning party — all details required

We require all details of a party returning items. Incomplete identity information is grounds to pause or refuse a return until verified. Minimum details for every return: full name; delivery and billing address used on the order (or explanation of any change); working email and phone; order/invoice reference; payment method last four digits or portal account ID where available; and a declaration that you are the purchaser or an authorised agent of the purchaser.

For business returns we additionally require company name, company number where registered, VAT number if VAT was charged, and written authorisation from an officer or procurement contact. We may request government or company ID, proof of address, or portal login confirmation where risk signals appear (mismatched addresses, high-value goods, serial anomalies, or third-party collection requests).

Personal data collected for returns is processed as described in our Privacy Policy, for fraud prevention, warranty/returns administration, accounting, and—where necessary—reporting unlawful activity.

Theft, swapping, tampering, and fraud

If we find evidence of theft, serial swapping, component swapping, tampering with seals or marks, false identity, payment fraud, or similar misconduct in connection with a return or order, we will refuse the return and may retain the goods as evidence where lawful to do so.

We will report such matters to the police and/or other competent authorities where appropriate, and we may pass relevant data (including identity details you provided, order history, serial records, correspondence, IP/device signals where logged, and photographic evidence) to third-party companies such as payment processors, fraud-prevention services, insurers, legal advisers, and marketplace/platform partners, to the extent permitted by law and our Privacy Policy.

Attempting a fraudulent return may also result in account suspension, refusal of future sales, and recovery of our investigation and shipping costs.

No exchanges — store credit and refunds only

We do not offer exchanges. If you need a different product, complete an authorised return for refund or store credit, then place a new order for the item you want (subject to stock).

Where a return is accepted and verified, we offer store credit or a monetary refund. Store credit is issued to your National Laptop Computer Repair Centre client portal account or as a written credit note and is non-transferable unless we state otherwise. Refunds are made to the original payment method where practicable.

Refunds and store credit are processed within 7–10 days after we receive the returned goods and complete serial and condition checks. Banking or card-network settlement may take additional time beyond our processing window. You will receive confirmation when the refund or credit is issued.

Return shipping, costs, and risk

Unless the goods are faulty, not as described, or otherwise returnable under your statutory rights (in which case we will not charge you for reasonable return postage we arrange), you are responsible for return shipping costs and for using a tracked service. Risk in the goods remains with you until we confirm receipt at our returns address.

Insure high-value shipments. We are not responsible for returns lost in transit without adequate tracking. Collect-on-delivery or unsolicited parcels may be refused.

If we reject a return after inspection, we will contact you. You may arrange collection or prepaid return shipping at your expense within a reasonable period we specify; unclaimed goods may thereafter be disposed of or recycled in accordance with applicable law after notice.

Partial returns, multi-item orders, and promotions

You may return part of an order if each returned line meets this policy. Refunds or store credit will reflect the price paid for returned lines, less any promotional discount that only applied because a returned line was included (we will explain any recalculation).

Gift cards, vouchers, and non-physical entitlements (if offered) follow the terms stated at purchase and may be non-returnable except where law requires otherwise.

Google Merchant Centre / Shopping summary

For Google Merchant Centre product listings and related Shopping surfaces, our return policy summary is: returns accepted on all items; return request window 14 days from delivery; refund method refund or store credit (no exchanges); refund/credit timing 7–10 days after we receive and verify the return; customer pays return shipping except where statutory rights require otherwise; returns require full returning-party details and must pass serial and condition checks; improper use, swapping, or tampering voids commercial return approval and may be reported.

If Merchant Centre policy fields require a single “return window (days)” value, use 14. If they require a refund processing period, use 10 (upper bound of our 7–10 day processing window after receipt). Always link customers to this full page for exclusions and fraud provisions.

Contact for returns

Request returns through the contact channels published on nlcrc.co.uk/contact or via your client portal messages, quoting your order number. Include all returning-party details listed above. Do not send goods until you have a returns reference.

Questions

Common questions

Do you accept returns on all products?

Yes. We accept returns on all items we sell, subject to serial verification, condition checks, identity requirements, and the exclusions for improper use, swapping, and tampering described in this policy. Statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods remain unaffected.

Can I exchange for a different model?

No. We do not offer exchanges. Choose refund or store credit after an authorised return, then place a new order.

How long do refunds take?

We process refunds or store credit within 7–10 days after we receive the returned item and complete serial and condition checks. Your bank or card provider may take longer to show the funds.

What if the serial number does not match?

We will refuse the return. Evidence of swapping or tampering may be reported to authorities and shared with fraud-prevention and payment partners as described above.

What details must I provide?

Full name, addresses, email, phone, order/invoice reference, item and serial details, reason for return, and preferred remedy. Businesses must also provide company details and authorisation. Incomplete details delay or block the return.
