Faults we see every week
- Cracked glass, ink blobs, or lines down the LCD
- Dim or flickering backlight (inverter / LED strip / Flexgate-style)
- Battery swelling lifting the palmrest or trackpad
- Windows shows “plugged in, not charging”
- Laptop only runs on charger, shuts down at 20%
- External HDMI works but the built-in screen is black
Windows and software faults
If Windows will not start, the drive still often holds the files. Do not reinstall until we have imaged the disk where possible.
- Windows brightness slider greyed out after a panel swap done elsewhere
- Battery report (powercfg) shows replace-soon / replace-now
- Unexpected shutdowns logged as Kernel-Power 41 from a failing pack

Questions
- Do you use original screens?
- We quote OEM-grade or original-spec. Cheap no-name panels get rejected if they will not hold calibration.
- Can a swollen battery be posted?
- Do not post a swollen pack. Bring the laptop in — we handle disposal.
