How NLCRC expects short-finding to be done safely (paraphrased from widely taught bench rules; original text). Rules of thumb - Know the rail and a safe current budget before injecting. - Start low; watch for heating components; do not cook a multilayer short blindly. - Prefer resistance mapping and BoardView net lists before high current. Never - Inject into a lithium pack path. - Leave injection unattended. - Assume “the hottest chip is always the fault” — copper pours lie. Document amps used, rail name, and what warmed up when you report success (or failure).
